ACCESSIBILITY
Holy Smokes BBQ Co. Last updated October 14, 2026
WHAT WE AIM FOR
We build this website and the BBQ apps to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. That means the pages work with a keyboard alone, with screen readers, with the browser zoomed, and with the colors the way we chose them checked for contrast.
WHAT IS IN PLACE
On the website pages: every control is reachable with the Tab key and shows a visible focus ring; text and its background meet the AA contrast ratio; images carry text descriptions; tap targets are at least 44 pixels; the layout works at phone width without sideways scrolling; animation stops when your system asks for reduced motion. The site is checked with an automated accessibility test before every release.
In the web versions of the apps (Scorecard, Notebook, Board and the Calculator): form fields are labelled, clickable items respond to Enter and Space, and the focus ring is never hidden.
WHAT WE KNOW NEEDS WORK
The apps grew fast and some screens have not had a full review yet. The rating wheel in Scorecard is easier with a mouse than a keyboard, and some older PDF exports have no reading order. If you hit a problem we have not listed, it is a problem we want to hear about.
